The 1600 block of Main St. is getting a new addition. We’re talking about Smoked – a restaurant and microbrewery with a focus on specialty smoked meat, oysters + libations – planned to open this fall. 🙌

Historic Columbia hosted a virtual walk-through tour Thursday night of renovations taking place at 1639 through 1645 Main Street, Columbia. The property is set to be converted into a restaurant named Smoked, serving high quality smoked meats and oysters with a members-only access speakeasy. The second floor will be turned into luxury apartments.

We are ~4 weeks into 2021 (even if it’s felt like months), and with a New Year comes new projects, plans, and additions to our ever-changing skyline. And, after the year we just had, it’s no surprise that Columbia is jonesin’ for something new to look forward to –– development-wise, that is.

Smoked, a combination of an oyster bar, smokehouse and microbrewery, is making a home where three historic buildings stand at 1639-1645 Main Street.

Scott Middleton’s latest project in the 1600 block of Main Street will offer smoked meats and oysters, a microbrewery and a sense of history interwoven with present-day progress.

A new flavor is coming to Main Street in 2021. Smoked is a combination of an oyster bar, smoke house, and microbrewery designed to create a one-of-a-kind experience in Columbia. Smoked continues the Middleton family’s stream of distinctive historical renovations on the 1600 Block of Main.

The 1600 block will soon be a place where eager Columbians bounce from business to business to drink, dine and be entertained.

Our passion for restoring historic properties and bringing ‘outside the box’ restaurant experiences to Columbia will be on full display with Smoked. With my love of oysters and my brother, Greg Middleton’s passion for smoked barbeque, we hope to bring a new and unique culinary experience to the city. We are thrilled to bring growth to Columbia and further expand its exceptional dining and entertainment options.”

One is a combination oyster bar, barbecue and microbrewery on Columbia's Main Street. The other is Greek-with-a-Southern twist in Lexington.
